Check if a CSR and a Certificate match

Step 1: Go to this website.

Step 2: Select ‘Check if a CSR and a Certificate match’

Step 3:

i. Open your certificate file with notepad

ii. Copy text.

iii. Paste to ‘Enter your certificate’ block

Step 4:

i. Open your CSR file with notepad

ii. Copy text.

iii. Paste to ‘Enter CSR’ block

Step 5: It will provide you match/mismatch result at the right side of the block.

You can check whether a certificate matches CSR on your own machine by using the OpenSSL commands below:

openssl x509 -noout -modulus -in certificate.crt | openssl md5
openssl req -noout -modulus -in CSR.csr | openssl md5
